川贝枇杷膏

Remember this? Always quite fascinated with the colourful instruction/information leaflet in the 川贝枇杷膏 bottle. 川贝枇杷膏 is the tasty, sweet cough syrup that i think all kids love, including myself. But its quite expensive and we normally get the cheaper, bitter alternative. So the 川贝枇杷膏 was a real "treat" when we got it.

Been having a sore throat since Monday. It had gotten worse by Friday morning and in order to survive the ordeals of Christmas feasting, I decided to get a bottle of 川贝枇杷膏 to keep the sore throat under control, at least until after Christmas. And in it, apart from the 川贝枇杷膏, is the colourful instruction/information leaflet that brought back childhood memories.

Abated

Captain Jack Sparrow woke up early this morning to find that the storm had abated. Just last night the storm that had began a few days ago was still pounding on his window pane but the sky was clear when he looked out the window upon waking. And the look-out boy said last night that the storm was the heaviest in 75 years and would probably last until Friday.

"So much for the look-out boy," he thought.

The heavy storm over the last few days had many locals of Leo Cityport resorting to hire sampans
to reach their ships rather than using the Harbormaster's ferry, as did Captain Sparrow. The look-out boy had reported that many parts of the island had flooded, particularly Thomson Lane, and the Harbormaster had to send many slaves to clear the channel of the debris.

"Well, back to the Black Pearl I guess."
